Registered Care Home Manager
The Registered Manager, Mrs Natalie Ward, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Care Home. Natalie will be pleased to help you with any questions, queries, compliments or complaints regarding any aspect of your care or service at Bryden House.
We also utilise a Deputy Manager, Trained Nurses, Senior Care Assistants, Care Assistants, Kitchen Staff, Activities staff and housekeepers. The Home's staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. They are carefully screened and references are always checked thoroughly. Gaps in employment are discussed and DBS checks obtained. All new staff receive a comprehensive induction.
The Home insists that all Care Assistants hold, or are working towards, a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Care. We also send staff on external training courses to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and to maximise the abilities of staff within the Home.
Deputy Home Manager
The Deputy Home Manager is responsible for the running of the Home in the Home Manager’s absence.
The Senior Nurse is responsible for the running of the Home in the absence of the Management team or during the evening and overnight.
Clinical Care Head Nurse/Day Nurses
The Care Home Management Team is supported by a Clinical Care Head Nurse and two additional day nurses, who are responsible for care provision under the guidance and instruction of the Care Home Manager/Deputy Manager.
The Senior Carer ensures standards are maintained in line with regulations, as well as supervising and training the care team. The Senior Carers have a qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 (or working towards this).
The carers' role is the key function of the Home as they are responsible for delivering personal care to residents under the guidance of the management team.
Residents are allocated Key workers when residing at are home. Some examples of tasks that a key worker would be responsible for include:
- Assisting the resident’s arrival into the home, wherever possible
- Meeting and keeping in touch with families and friends
- Arranging visits and activities as required
- Being a friend and confidante wherever needed
- Writing personal elements of the care plan and taking part in care plan reviews
A combination of regular care plan reviews and having a special relationship that builds up between the key worker and the resident enables us to make sure that the resident always receives care that is tailored specifically to their needs.
Our activities representative ensures that residents are engaged in their chosen pursuits, bearing in mind their specific wishes at all times.
The home utilises an administrator to assist staff with the day-to-day operations and is the best person to talk to if you have any questions regarding fees/billing, personal allowances or any other administrative area.
We employ a housekeeper and two domestic assistants in the home, each of whom are qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 (or working towards this).
The housekeeping team are responsible for ensuring all areas of the care home are kept clean and tidy and, most importantly, safe.
Our laundry assistant ensures residents have clean, fresh clothing at all times in the Home.
Our chef provides catering for residents as well as ensuring the kitchen complies with all Environmental Health Regulations. Our catering staff are able to provide special diets if required - please discuss any dietary needs you may have with the Care Home Manager prior to admission. All kitchen staff are qualified to at least a Level 2 certificate in Food Safety.
We employ a dedicated maintenance person with over 18 years experience working at Bryden House. He ensures that our facilities are kept safe and that faults are attended to as quickly as possible. If you have any concerns regarding the maintenance of the Home, please speak with the Care Home Manager
